Damn, just the other day, I had written a post on how David Gilmour thinks that Pink Floyd will never ever re-unite. Here I am, listening to Lost For Words and reading David Gilmour's blog and see by a quirk of fate that the Pink Floyd re-union can never happen - ever!
Rest In Peace - Richard! You were one hell of a keyboardist and took us on some amazing trips! Will be missed by a whole lot of people!
Sadly this joins my post on Syd Barrett.

Pink Floyd reunion?
For all of us hoping for a Pink Floyd reunion, David Gilmour has closed the doors on the idea - again! In his interview to Yahoo! News, he has succinctly said that he has "been there, done that". Some beautiful lines from his interview -
"There have been all sorts of farewell moments in people's lives and careers which they have then rescinded, but I think I can fairly categorically say that there won't be a tour or an album again that I take part in. It isn't to do with animosity or anything like that. It's just that I've done that. I've been there, I've done it."
On the other hand, I am looking forward to his new DVD release - Live in GdaĆsk. Sure that that will turn out to be an awesome concert.

Gilmour and Pink Floyd
Rolling Stone has an amazing interview with David Gilmour who has just released the DVD "Remember that Night - Live from the Royal Albert Hall". In it, he discusses about the new releases, Pink Floyd and Roger Waters. Kinda sad to see him say these lines - "What I’ve been doing for the last couple of years — what I was in the middle of when Live 8 came along — was my album, and that’s what I’m thinking about. It’s been a joy and very satisfying, and the album did very well, even though Rolling Stone only gave it two stars. Everything went so well, I can’t see why I would want to be going back to that old thing. It’s very retrogressive. I want to look forward, and looking back isn’t my joy. Roger hasn’t written a lyric lately that has really been something where I’ve gone, “Wow, I wish that was part of my oeuvre.” I don’t know how one puts it, but going back into all that just wouldn’t bring me joy. It’s my time of life to be selfish — please myself."
So there's no chance that Pink Floyd are getting back again....damn!!!

Pink Floyd perform together - for Syd!!
Damn, came across this very, very interesting article on BrainDamage where, last night, Pink Floyd performed with Roger Waters once again. This time it was for a Syd Barret tribute. Damn, the list of performers is awesome. To name a few - Robyn Hitchcock, Chrissie Hynde, and Kevin Ayers. Wish I can lay my hands on the DVD or the video somehow.
On a lighter note - another friend of mine mentioned that the bike known as the HeroHonda Karizma was actually the LML Karizma first. Err - what??!!?!
