Scary House at Garuda Mall

Well, Anoop, Thenraj and me decided to go for the Pirates of the Carribean today. We didnt get the tickets at Symphony and decided to have a bite at Garuda Mall. We had a great meal and then went to the INOX theaters. No luck there too and saw this place called Scary House. It was a cool 40 bucks each. And was not worth it. Man, you guys have to make more effort to scare people!. Maybe some mirrors and moving platforms would have added to the scare!!. I mean, the only thing that came close to a scare was the one just before walking out the exit. Its this place where a figure swathed in black in a dark room is lying in a bed and suddenly sits up and pushes the bed violently towards you. Thats it. Frigging 40 bucks down the drain!!!

Rockstar Supernova

Well, have been following the episodes of Rockstar Supernova on and off for some time now. The very first episode was awesome with some great performances by the guys and gals who auditioned. One of the best performance has to be that of Josh Logan who played one of the songs by Black Crowes. What an awesome rendition of the song. But the guy has steadily slipped in the ratings....wonder why so many people do not like the way he sings!!.
Watched one of the episodes today. Today, the bottom 3 singers sang.....that was Dana and Phil. Phil kinda sucks and I see on the site today that he has been chucked out. Good then, nothing lost. Just thought that I'd put in my two bits about the other singers.
Dana - Pretty good looking. Kinda overconfident and does not have a good vocal range. Struggles on some songs.
Dilana - One of the better female singers. Can improvise really well. Good vocal range. Punkish.
Jill - Hoo!! Kinda get hot watching this short bombshell. Not exactly great looking..but woohoo!! Please dont select her, Supernova - she is better off crooning country songs!!.
Magni - the man, not from the USA. Good vocals. Not great stage presence. Great song selection.
Patrice - fuck it, chuck her off!.
Ryan - with that accent?? No way, let him go home!!.
Storm - must be next best to Dilana. Pretty good vocal range and has made good song selections.
Zayra - sounds like a donkey when braying...oops singing!!. And what an awesome suit selection in the last episode. A blue stretch suit that left me puking!!. And NO vocal range. Cannot sing for nuts. Fucking FIRE her people!!.
Lukas - looks like a punk. Selects the same genre of musi too. Great vocal range, nice song selection, has not made a wrong move so far. Can maintain a great presence on stage. His last rendition was awesome.
Josh - Well, I really believe this guy has to win the competition. Hes more into soul and this kinda rubs Supernova the wrong way. But still, great vocal range and can sing really well. Let him win people.

Hehe, Gilby Clarke is kinda the coolest after Dave Novarro. Tommy Lee looks wasted in every episode. Newstead looks and acts confident. Rock on Supernova.....

Syd Barett dies at 60

Syd "Bike" Barett has died at the age of 60. Man, what a band he helped create. There's not much I can say.....

except to add as an afterthought, a song that was written by Pink Floyd, for Syd..... RIP!!

Shine on You Crazy Diamond

Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom,
Blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter, come on you stranger,
you legend, you martyr, and shine!

You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision, rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter, you piper, you
prisoner, and shine!

Nobody knows where you are, how near or how far.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Pile on many more layers and I'll be joining you there.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
And we'll bask in the shadow of yesterday's triumph, and sail on the steel breeze.
Come on you boy child, you winner and loser,
come on you miner for truth and delusion, and shine!

Why Zidane, why??

The World Cup is over and no one is more happier than Anoop. The Italian team played well and the match was pretty good. Buffon was outstanding and France would have certainly won had Barthez been playing for Italy!. But something put us off from a real big time celebration. Zidane who had found his form sometime in the World Cup, really played well and kept the Italians on their toes. At first, we missed the head-butt. But it was replayed and we saw it and were thunderstruck by what we saw!!! I dont think anyone still knows what really happened. Maybe we never will. But whatever it was, Zidane should have kept his cool. What a sad way to finish your career!! But we salute the way you played, Zizou!!.

There have been rumours on the internet that he was taunted by a racial slur. Not sure. Lets wait and see. And by the way, the World Cup 2006 was otherwise, a great one. Me and my friends watched nearly all the matches. Good one.

Why everyone hates Cristiano Ronaldo...

Well, that was just to get your attention. But still, someone tell me why everyone seems to hate him? Or atleast most of the crowd did in the France Portugal semi-final last night. Every time Ronaldo touched the ball, they booed. So much so that I got so damn pissed off. It is so damn childish. To get back to the reason for why he was booed, we have to go to the Portugal England quarter final that England lost so well. Or rather, so badly. They have never had the guts to come out on top of a penalty shootout and they blame Ronaldo for their exit? Insane. To get back to why Ronaldo is being blamed, we have to go back to that match where Rooney was sent off for kicking Ricardo Carvalho’s groin. Notice that it is Rooney's foot that kicked Ricardo. Not the other way around. Ok, seems like half the world accepts that but very dispiritedly. I am certain that they would have all said otherwise unless there were cameras capturing it all!!. Ok, now that that is settled, everyone says that they hate Ronaldo cause he came running to the referee asking for a red-card for Rooney!! How fucking childish can you jokers get?

Damn, Rooney firstly fouls, then kicks a guy in the groin, then pushes Ronaldo....all this happening just next to the referee and YOU ALL BLAME Ronaldo? WTF!?! Are you all on drugs or some mind-altering substance?? Rooney has to keep his temper in check. He got the red card for kicking someone in the groin. That is potentially a career-destroying foul. You are playing in front of all the world! He didnt have to kick Carvalho, he didn't have to push Ronaldo. He did BOTH!!!. For his fault, Ronaldo is blamed. And to top it all, the press goes ballistic in parts of Europe and England, some even stooping to the level of being vulgar!! Damn, blame Rooney. Crucify him in the press. Dont look for a scapegoat to hide your shame!!! I know, its not wrong to be ashamed of a thug like Rooney. White Pele, my a**!!

I also read what Alan Shearer (an ex captain for the English team) had to say - "I think Wayne Rooney should go back to the Manchester United training ground and stick one on Ronaldo”...hmm, just shows what an El-Cheapo of the finest grade you are, Alan!!

I think the good thing that comes out of all this is Ronaldo need no more play with that school-boy team, Manchester United.

For not so hateful an article, read through this on WorldCupBlog.....

Goal of the Century

Well, what Anoop commented on my last post - "just because a person cant play to his best anymore ...doesnt make him a lesser man...nor does it erase his past heroics...I will still stand by my hero in his darkest hour and also bring about euphoria in his best!", made me think. Its true. In this age and time when people can forget things in the blink of an eye and move on, I think how much important it is also to relive, revive and treasure some moments from the past. We have had our heroes and the latest generation (oh, I must be getting old) just seems not to bother about any of these older heroes. To live the moment is what they are after (yeah, I must be getting really old here!!). Made me remember all those days of old when me and Dad used to watch football matches together but always support the opposite teams.

So here's to one of the legends of football - Diego Maradona. The media hates him, he hates them. But we will remember him. The Goal of the Century!!

Dont cry for me Germany!!

Damn, for the game that Germany played, they could have left Argentina win the last game. Man, what a pathetic game Germany played. I mean, I would love to kill Anoop here, but Italy played a great game during the first half. The second half was taken over by Germany, but it still was not so great a game. Extra time seemed a drag with both teams quite tired. But I am sure many people must have noticed that the referee indeed missed many an oppurtunity to provide Germany some yellow cards. At the lag end of the second half of extra time, I am certain Germany decided that they can beat Italy on penalties. Man, what a pathetic clockwork of a team. They have to pass the goalie pieces of paper for reminding where each player shoots!! How pathetic can that be??
The goal by Grosso was a blinder and took Germany by surprise. And though I am certain that Del Piero cannot play more than 15 minutes, his goal was an awesome one. Hats off the Italy. Great game. Yo bugger Anoop, you owe me a treat for this!!

My house in Wikimapia

Came across this link from a friend in office.....Wikimapia......its really great. Uses Google Earth but has options to tag and add places on there. So you can actually go ahead and locate the place you are interested in and add a sqaure in there. Makes it easier to search for the place later. Loved it cause it makes it so much easier to search for places.

And here's my house in Nagercoil!
